Varsity student probed over 3R social media content

KUANTAN: Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) is investigating a student accused of sharing social media content touching on issues of religion, race and royalty (3R), allegedly undermining public harmony.

In a statement on Wednesday (Feb 25), the university said firm action would be taken against any student found guilty of disciplinary offences under the University and University Colleges (Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah) (Student Discipline) Rules 2024.

"UMPSA will not compromise on the spread of false content or incitement to hatred. 3R sentiments must not be taken lightly, and individuals must observe proper boundaries and sensitivities," it said.

The university also reminded its community to uphold mutual respect and compassion in daily life.

"Members of the UMPSA community are reminded not to share social media content touching on 3R issues that could jeopardise national security," the statement added. – Bernama
