Couple killed after motorcycle crashes into road divider on NSE


KULAI: A married couple was killed after their motorcycle crashed into a road divider at KM37.4 of the North-South Expressway (Southbound) here.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said the incident, involving the 55-year-old man and his 49-year-old wife, occurred at about 1.40pm on Tuesday (Feb 17).

“Early investigation found that the man lost control of his motorcycle, causing the vehicle to skid before crashing into the road divider.

“Both the rider and the passenger sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement here.

ACP Tan said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He also urged those with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer, Insp Mohamad Firdaus Mustaffa at 011-26081008.
