PAS extends Chinese New Year greetings, calls on Malaysians to renew resolve

SHAH ALAM: PAS is calling on the public to renew their determination and commitment by choosing the path of simplicity, patience, honesty and wisdom as guiding principles in building a more meaningful future in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the celebration is a time for families to gather, strengthen their bonds, and reinforce the spirit of brotherhood among the country's multiracial population, reported Sinar Harian.

"In the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, let us continue to strengthen unity, uphold justice and work together to build a prosperous and harmonious Malaysia," he said.

"The classical Chinese thinker Confucius reminded us that 'harmony is something that must be welcomed'," he added.

"In our diverse society, harmony is not uniformity but is built on mutual respect and understanding," he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 16).

Takiyuddin said unity and harmony in the country can also be strengthened if society continues to uphold the principles of order, decency and justice.

"In conjunction with this New Year, let us renew our determination and commitment to choose the path of simplicity, patience, honesty and wisdom as our enduring guide and formula for building a healthy and meaningful future together," he said.

"PAS wishes a Happy New Year to all Malaysians of Chinese descent, with the hope that this year will be filled with peace, prosperity, good health and bright prospects for every family and individual," he said.
