In CNY message, Hajiji pledges inclusive development and progress for all Sabahans


KOTA KINABALU: The Chinese community is invited to be a strategic partner in building a progressive Sabah, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

In his Chinese New Year message on Monday (Feb 16), Hajiji said the state government aspires to continue driving economic growth, human capital development, and the people's well-being through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 initiative.

"We will ensure that this progress is inclusive and that the state’s prosperity is enjoyed by all, regardless of race and background, because unity is the key to Sabah's stability and prosperity," he added.

Hajiji said that Chinese New Year, which embodies the values of family, unity, and hope, reflects the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese community and is also an opportunity to strengthen harmony and the spirit of togetherness among Sabahans.

"The Fire Horse this year symbolises energy, courage and innovation.

"This spirit inspires us to keep moving forward with structured planning and close cooperation for Sabah’s sustainable and balanced development.

"I wish the Chinese community in Sabah in particular, and throughout the country in general, a Happy Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai," he said.
