Anwar chairs 148th meeting of Mentris Besar, Chief Ministers

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has chaired the 148th Meeting of Mentris Besar and Chief Ministers at the Parliament building here to strengthen the coordination of work processes between the Federal Government and state government administrations.

In a post on Facebook on Tuesday (Feb 10), he said that the meeting focused on efforts to deepen cooperation between both levels of government, particularly in policy coordination and the implementation of joint development initiatives that are more organised and effective.

Anwar also emphasised that every development policy and initiative implemented must have a positive impact on the lives of the people.

"Emphasis was also placed on the welfare and well-being of the people so every decision and plan outlined can be translated into tangible benefits felt directly by the citizens, especially those in need," he said.

The periodic meeting serves as an important platform to coordinate issues of national interest and to solidify the cooperative relationship between the federal and state governments. – Bernama
