KUALA LUMPUR: Three seperate anti-narcotics operations have led to seizures of around RM200mil.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, at a press conference at the contingent headquarters here Friday (Feb 6), said that the first raid was conducted on Jan 30 in Bentong where three men aged between 40 and 48 years old were arrested at a rest stop there.

“Following the arrest of the three, the police then raided a car park in Jalan Kuchai Lama where a car containing 255 packages of suspected methamphetamine were found.

“The value of the drugs seized was worth around RM13.25mil,” he said.

Checks showed that the group had been active since 2024 and that they would use car parks as drop off points for cars containing drugs. Other members of the syndicate would then collect the cars without any direct contact.

The second operation led to the discovery of  around RM180mil in suspected drugs, including ecstasy pills and MDMA.

“Two raids were conducted between Jan 31 and Feb 2 where three suspects aged between 38 and 58 years old were arrested in the Klang Valley.

“The first raid was conducted at a house in Kepong where a local man and a foreign woman were caught,” he said.

Checks at the home led to a trove of drugs including 843.8kg of suspected MDMA powder and 325.2kg of Erimin 5 pills.

Follow up actions led to the arrest of a third suspect, a local woman, in Subang Jaya.

“The first suspect acted as the syndicate leader and had organised the transport of the drugs in and out of the country. The other two were his lovers and also members of the syndicate.

“Their modus operandi included using rented houses in the Klang Valley as storehouses before distributing them to both local and international markets,” he said.

The third operation saw the thwarting of drug mules at KL International Airport.

A series of raids were conducted on Feb 2 and Feb 3 leading to the arrest of six suspects aged between 31 and 37 years old.

Following information gathered, three suspects, including two would-be drug mules, were arrested at the airport after police found 33kg of suspected marijuana buds in their suitcases.

“It is believed that the mules were about to fly to the United Kingdom. They were paid around RM10,000 and we are still investigating if they had prior knowledge of the contents of their luggage,” he said.

Follow-up raids were then conducted in Bandar Damai Perdana, Taman Equine and Bayan Lepas, leading to the arrest of three more suspects and additional drug seizures.

“In total the police seized around 188kg of marijuana buds worth RM15mil. The group is believed to had been active since January this year.

“It is believed that the drugs were brought via illegal routes in Chuping Padang Besar in Perlis and was brought to the Klang Valley to be sold at both the local and international markets,” he said.
