Cops on the hunt for suspects in extortion, assault case at Pudu entertainment outlet


PETALING JAYA: Police are hunting for suspects involved in an extortion and assault case after two local men were allegedly beaten for failing to settle charges at an entertainment outlet in Pudu early Tuesday (Feb 3).

Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Lazim Ismail said police received a report at 5.03am on Feb 3 from a 53-year-old man.

“At about 2.37am, the complainant received a call from his friend seeking help after claiming he had been assaulted and threatened for failing to make payment at an entertainment outlet in Pudu,” he said in a statement.

ACP Mohamad Lazim said the victims, two local men, both 33-years-old, had gone to the outlet for entertainment purposes before they were allegedly assaulted by the suspects.

Both victims sustained bruises to their faces and bodies as a result of the incident, he added.

The case is being investigated under Sections 384 and 324 of the Penal Code, and police are currently tracking down the suspects. Investigations are ongoing.
