Motorcyclist killed in crash with lorry on SILK highway


PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist has died after he was run over by a lorry on the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK) near here.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the accident occurred at around 9am on Monday (Jan 26).

"The victim, a 47-year-old local man lost control of his motorcycle and fell onto the path of a lorry," he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 26).

ACP Naazron said the lorry driver, a 53-year-old local man, was unable to stop in time and the motorcyclist ended up under the heavy vehicle.

He added that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged anyone with information on incident to contact investigating officer Insp Nur Faezah Mohd Zakria at 012-326 8496.
