Kinabatangan, Lamag by-elections: Final ballot boxes transported by helicopter arrive at vote-counting centre

KINABATANGAN: The final three ballot boxes to be transported by helicopter for the Kinabatangan by-election arrived at the vote-counting centre at Dewan Sri Lamag at 5.20pm Saturday (Jan 24), reports Sinar Harian.

It is understood that the three ballot boxes were from the Kuamut state constituency, involving SK Keramuak in Tongod, where polling closed at 2pm.

With the arrival of these three ballot boxes, all eight ballot boxes transported out from polling centres by helicopter have now been delivered.

Overall, the ballot boxes flown out by helicopter were from SK Inarad, SK Ladang Tomanggang, SK Sri Ganda, SK Tundun Bohangin, SK Kuamut, SK Litang and SK Abai.

Earlier, Election Commission (SPR) chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun told a press conference that eight ballot boxes would be flown out by helicopter, while the remainder from interior areas would be transported by boat.

The earliest the results for the Kinabatangan parliamentary and the Lamag state seat by-elections are expected to be announced is around 10pm Saturday.
