Sim celebrates Insken leader’s innovation award

Major win: Sim congratulating Viviantie for receiving the Public Social Innovator of the Year 2026 award.

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Steven Sim has congratulated Institut Keusahawanan Negara (Insken) CEO Viviantie Sarjuni for receiving the Public Social Innovator of the Year 2026 award for Social Entrepreneurship by the Schwab Foundation.

The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister said the award, presented in Switzerland on Jan 21 during the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, made Viviantie the first Malaysian to receive the prestigious international recognition.

“This achievement brings honour to the country on the global stage and reflects Malaysia’s growing role in social innovation,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Sim said Viviantie’s participation in global workshops and international engagement sessions in Davos allowed her to exchange ideas with world leaders and social innovators.

“The knowledge, experience and global best practices gained would be brought back to Malaysia to strengthen entrepreneurship development, particularly under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry and through Insken’s strategic programmes.

“This success reflects her leadership, dedication and strong commitment to empower entrepreneurship, social enterprises and inclusive, sustainable economic development,” he said.

Sim expressed confidence that the recognition would add value to the national entrepreneurship ecosystem, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises.

“Congratulations and well done on this proud and inspiring achievement,” he said.
