KUCHING: The married couple found slain in their home at Taman Mutiara in Sri Aman died from multiple stab wounds, says Sarawak Police Commissioner Comm Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah.
He said post-mortem on both victims was conducted at the Sarawak General Hospital here on Thursday.
“The male victim had 11 wounds from a sharp object on his neck and chest.
“The cause of death was confirmed as neck and chest injuries due to stab wounds.
“His wife had two stab wounds on her neck and the cause of death was neck injury due to stab wounds,” he said in a statement yesterday.
The victims, identified as Andy Roy Junran, 45, and his wife Angelin Kibin, 44, were found dead in their bedroom on Wednesday.
Andy was a primary school headmaster while Angelin was a nurse.
The couple had two daughters and a son.
It was earlier reported that the couple’s remains were brought back to Sri Aman after the post-mortem, with burial to take place tomorrow.
According to Comm Mohamad Zainal, police had recorded statements from 21 witnesses so far, comprising the victims’ family members, neighbours and colleagues.
“Nevertheless, the motive of the incident is still being investigated and has not been established,” he said.
The case is being investigated for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
