PETALING JAYA: The Royal Malaysian Air Force will enhance efforts to combat corruption, strengthen integrity, improve governance as well as enforce discipline fairly and consistently regardless of rank to restore trust in the Armed Forces, says its chief Jeneral Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris.
He said with a clear direction, strong leadership values, the right discipline and work culture, the Air Force would remain a credible and trusted air power.
"In line with the Defence Minister's statement, the Air Force is prioritising efforts to restore public confidence," he said in his New Year Address on Tuesday (Jan 13).
The Air Force will receive several strategic new assets in 2026, including three ANKA unmanned aerial vehicles, and air defence radar system in Bintulu and Two F/A-50M light combat aircraft, he said.
"This year will be a critical and challenging phase in the air force's modernisation and transformation agenda," said Muhamad Norazlan.
He added that the induction of these assets requires comprehensive preparation, including organisational restructuring, human capital development, infrastructure upgrades, doctrine and operating procedure refinement, and strengthening of maintenance systems to ensure operational readiness is always at its optimum.
It was previously reported that 21 Air Force officers were linked to immoral activities dubbed as "yeye culture."
"Yeye culture" refers to immoral activities such as parties allegedly taking place in military camps, which also feature female escorts.
Initial investigations on Jan 6 confirmed their involvement and action will be taken under Armed Forces laws and regulations.
