Missing uni student in KL turns up in JB

PETALING JAYA: A 23-year-old university student, Nurul Ain Hannani, who was reported missing since Monday (Jan 5), has been found in Johor Baru.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Aidil Bolhassan said the victim has been found and is currently at the Permas Jaya police station.

“Family members have been informed and have indicated that they will be heading there to pick up the victim,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 8).

Meanwhile, in a post on Threads, a woman identified as “Qistinafarihin”, who claimed to be the victim’s cousin, shared that Nurul Ain was found in the Permas Jaya area in Johor Bahru.

According to the post, Nurul Ain appeared frightened at the time she was found, with a pale complexion, and was crying as she asked to be sent home.

“My cousin has been found safe in Permas Jaya. Alhamdulillah. Thank you to the police involved, as well as everyone who helped and prayed.

“She appeared traumatised, pale and was crying, saying she wanted to go home when officers asked whether she wished to return,” she added in the post on Thursday (Jan 8).

Earlier, it was reported that Nurul Ain, a student at Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia was reported missing after leaving her residence in Taman Shamelin, Kuala Lumpur.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the residential area showed Nurul Ain getting into a white vehicle believed to be operating as a Grab ride, before she became unreachable.
