Sultan of Selangor consents to state assembly opening on April 20


SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has given his consent for the opening of the First Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for 2026, scheduled for April 20.

Selangor State Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San said the Sultan of Selangor was also expected to grace the opening of the sitting on that date.

"The Sultan of Selangor has granted his consent for this year's State Assembly session, which will begin on April 20.

"The second sitting will begin in August, while the third sitting is expected to take place in mid-November," he said when met by Bernama here on Tuesday (Jan 6). – Bernama
