Drug-positive driver hits and kills motorcyclist in Seremban


SEREMBAN: A man who was high on drugs has crashed into and killed a motorcyclist at KM23 Jalan Seremban-Kuala Pilah here.

Kuala Pilah district police chief Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said in the 11.10pm incident on Wednesday (Dec 31), the 28-year-old motorcyclist, who worked as a restaurant assistant, was confirmed dead at the scene.

"Initial investigations found that the accident occurred when a car driven by a 23-year-old man from Seremban towards Felda Keratong lost control of his car before veering into the opposite lane.

"The victim, who was on his way home in Senawang, was unable to avoid the car," he said in a statement here on Wednesday (Dec 31).

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and tested positive for cannabis.

He was detained under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. – Bernama
