Beware of fake news site spoofing The Star

Star Media Group Berhad, which publishes The Star print products and online portal, refers to a site misusing The Star's brand identity.

It has come to the group's attention that a fake news article misusing The Star's logo has been circulating about the late tycoon and veteran politician Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas.

The group wishes to clarify that the articles, titled "Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin's final surprise: why the Malaysian political veteran and business icon left his heirs an investment platform instead of billions" and "What did Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin conceal in his will?" are not affiliated with The Star in any way.

The aforementioned articles, as well as similar iterations and others like it, are not run by The Star.

Please do not interact with these articles, social media pages or suspicious ads seen on social media.

The Star – which Reuters named one of the most trusted sources of news in Malaysia – publishes on its official website thestar.com.my.
