THE behaviour of certain individuals who have been feeding macaques and monkeys has caused the animals to frequently roam along Jalan Air Kuning–Si Rusa in Port Dickson, Kosmo! reported.
A road user, who wanted to be known as Ahmad, said he is always careful to avoid hitting macaques or monkeys.
“Usually in the mornings and evenings, there are people who stop their cars and feed the animals. They may have become accustomed to waiting for food,” he said.
Port Dickson Municipal Council president Hasnor Abd Hamid said individuals who defy the ban which prohibits the feeding of macaques and monkeys may be fined RM250.
“Do not feed monkeys, macaques or other animals as it can cause littering, disrupt public order and potentially spread diseases,” he said.
