Adam Adli appointed Melaka PKR acting chairman

IPOH: Adam Adli Abd Halim has been appointed as acting chairman for Melaka PKR.

PKR secretary-general Dr Fuziah Salleh said Adam Adli, who is the state party's deputy chairman, would take on the role effective Dec 15.

"The party's political bureau has decided that Adam Adli will take over state party chairman Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin's duty as the acting chairman.

"Shamsul Iskandar's position as the Hang Tuah Jaya branch chief remains," she said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 16).

Shamsul Iskandar was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court earlier this month with four counts of graft, related to the Sabah mineral exploration mining licensing.

The former senior political secretary to the Prime Minister was accused of receiving cash and goods from businessman Albert Tei on four separate occasions between Nov 24, 2023 and March 5 last year.

Adam Adli is the party's communications director and also Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.
