Gang links under investigation in Klang shooting, says Selangor police chief

SHAH ALAM: Recent shootings in Klang may be linked to gang activity, police say, as investigations continue.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said that the case involves multiple aspects that require careful examination by the police, adding that no arrests have been made.

“Follow-up investigations are underway, but no further actions or arrests have been taken at this stage. The probe is still ongoing, and all aspects are being studied,” he said at a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters on Monday (Dec 15).

Comm Shazeli confirmed that gang activities were one of those aspects being investigated.

“That is one aspect being considered in the investigation; it is not being dismissed,” he said.

On Nov 13, a shooting is believed to have occurred at a petrol station in Klang, which has gone viral on social media.

A 1-minute, 17-second video recorded by a passerby at the scene shows a car allegedly attempting to flee while being blocked by other vehicles present at the location.

In the footage, a white vehicle suspected to be driven by the suspect is seen speeding away after the incident, while a person believed to be the victim lies on the ground.

Meanwhile, on Nov 29, another shooting in Taman Mesra Indah killed a man inside a four-wheel drive vehicle.

A video of the victim, lying motionless in the vehicle, has gone viral on social media.

The video also showed police personnel attending the scene.
