MetMalaysia, in a statement, said the severe weather is expected to affect Langkawi in Kedah; several districts in Perak (Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak); and multiple areas in Terengganu, including Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman.

A similar warning has also been issued for parts of Pahang (Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin); the entire state of Selangor; Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau); Melaka (Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah); and Johor (Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).
