32 scam victims to come home

PETALING JAYA: A total of 32 Malaysian scam victims stranded at the Myanmar-Thai border have been brought into Thailand by the Royal Thai Army.

They will come home tomorrow.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan (pic) said the scam victims are being taken to the Second Friendship Bridge in the border town of Mae Sot for screening before their return to Malaysia, following a request for humanitarian assistance from the embassy.

“Embassy officers are on the way to Mae Sot with two buses that will transport them directly to Danok and Bukit Kayu Hitam tomorrow.

“The 21 Malaysian victims who are under the supervision of the Myanmar government are also scheduled to be brought to Danok and Malaysia tomorrow,” he said.
