PMO: Composition of Sabah Cabinet shows political maturity

PETALING JAYA: The Prime Minister's Office has extended its congratulations to Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on the formation of the new state Cabinet, describing it as a reflection of political maturity and a strong commitment to advancing the state's development agenda over the next five years.

Senior Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said the newly formed leadership represents "political maturity, cohesion and a shared resolve to continue Sabah's development agenda for the coming term".

He said close cooperation between the Sabah and federal governments remains crucial to address key strategic issues, including infrastructure development, service delivery, economic growth and the well-being of the people.

"The unity and resolve of this new cabinet are expected to further strengthen ties between both levels of government in ensuring that the aspirations of Sabahans can be realised more effectively," he said during a social media livestream on Friday (Dec 5).

Tunku Nashrul added that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be in Sabah on Saturday (Dec 6) evening to attend the Majlis Sentuhan Madani Bersama Rakyat Negeri Sabah at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

During the visit, Anwar is also scheduled to meet the Chief Minister and members of the newly appointed state Cabinet.

"God willing, the federal government will continue to work closely with Sabah's leadership in the spirit of Madani to ensure that development in Sabah is implemented comprehensively, inclusively and sustainably," he said.
