EAIC wraps up probe of Negri waste dumping incident involving DOE

KUALA LUMPUR: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) has completed its investigation of a complaint involving the Environment Department (DOE) headquarters and its Negri Sembilan office over the illegal disposal of scheduled waste in Bukit Pelandok.

The EAIC said the complaint centred on actions taken in relation to an incident in Negri Sembilan.

"Following its investigation, the commission has decided to refer its findings and recommendations to the Chief Secretary to the Government, the Public Service Department, the DOE director-general and the DOE disciplinary authority for appropriate disciplinary action to be taken against the officers involved from both the headquarters and the state office," the EAIC said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 4).

It added that the investigation results will also be referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and made public in the near future.
