Education Ministry acts on immoral conduct

PETALING JAYA: Officers suspected of involvement in immoral activities have been removed from all educational institutions pending investigation, says the Education Ministry.

In a statement yesterday, the ministry said it took the matter seriously and would not tolerate such unethical conduct among its personnel.

“The ministry does not compromise on such unethical behaviour. An internal investigation is currently underway,” it said.

It said immediate action had been taken to ensure those involved are no longer present in any educational institution under the ministry until the investigation is completed.

“All department heads are reminded to strengthen monitoring efforts and ensure that such immoral activities are eradicated at every level,” it added.

It was reported that 17 civil servants, including a teacher, were among 202 people, rounded up at a men-only wellness centre in Kuala Lumpur last Friday.
