Perak flash flood evacuees drop to 3,975


IPOH: The number of flash flood victims at temporary relief centres in Perak has dropped to 3,975.

The state disaster management committee said 1,189 families remain at shelters in five districts as of 12pm on Monday (Dec 1).

It said this compares with 1,447 families and 4,766 people at 8am.

The affected districts are Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk.

A committee spokesman said five relief centres have closed.

He said four are in Manjung and one is in Hilir Perak.

The Meteorological Department reports clear weather in Perak until night.
