KOTA KINABALU: The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah youth wing is opposed to Barisan Nasional joining the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state administration led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
It said the GRS Plus administration already has a simple majority to form the state government through GRS with 29 seats, five independents, three from Upko, one each from Pakatan Harapan and Parti KDM, as well as two from Sabah STAR.
"The government’s position will be strengthened through the appointment of six assemblymen, ensuring stability," it said in a statement on Monday (Dec 1).
Gagasan Rakyat is a component of GRS.
The wing stressed that the voters' voices must be respected.

"Sabahans have given a clear signal, and any attempt to deny the rakyat’s desire is not right.
"Our previous experiences must also serve as a lesson," it added, in reference to Sabah Barisan withdrawing support for the state government in January 2023 in an attempt to oust Hajiji as chief minister.
The move, however, failed to materialise as several Barisan assemblymen backed Hajiji.
"Barisan has also openly refused to work with GRS and even launched political attacks on the coalition and Hajiji.
"Hence, it is not right for them to step forward wanting to be part of the government," it said.
In Saturday's (Nov 29) state polls, Sabah Barisan won six seats: Lamag, Sukau, Bengkoka, Kunak, Sook and Liawan.
Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said on Sunday (Nov 30) that Barisan would give its full support to form the next Sabah government.
