Barisan is part of Sabah govt, Deputy CM confirms

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional is part of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) led state government, says Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.

“Yes,” he said briefly when asked at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Sri Gaya here on Monday (Dec 1).

On whether Sabah STAR would be part of the government, he said “not yet” before leaving immediately.

Sabah Barisan won six seats at the recently concluded state polls.

Sabah Umno secretary Datuk Jafry Arifin was also appointed as a Cabinet minister during a swearing-in ceremony earlier.

Sabah STAR meanwhile, won two seats.

Sabah STAR pulled out of GRS days before nomination for the Sabah polls.
