Three men injured in gang attack in Selayang Jaya


GOMBAK: Three men were seriously injured after they were believed to have been attacked by members of a rival gang in Selayang Jaya shortly after midnight.

The incident occurred at around 12.20am on Friday (Nov 28) when the victims were drinking in front of a pharmacy before a group of men suddenly ambushed them.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the suspects were believed to have used weapons.

"The victims, aged 18 to 36, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Selayang Hospital for treatment.

"We have not identified the motive behind the attack,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.

ACP Noor Ariffin said police are working to identify the suspects involved.

"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with dangerous weapons," he added.

He urged witnesses or anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Insp Mohamad Shafiq Md Shapawi at 013-5154065.

A video of the incident, believed to have been recorded by bystanders, has since gone viral on social media. The footage shows about six attackers arriving in several vehicles before assaulting the victims.

All three victims were later placed in the Red Zone at Hospital Selayang due to the severity of their injuries.
