SEREMBAN: Police are probing a shooting incident after they found several spent casings outside a house near here.
District OCPD Asst Comm Azahar Abdul Rahim said police received a call from a member of the public around 1.55pm on Thursday (Nov 27) claiming that several shots were fired at a house and a car parked inside in Bandar Seremban Selatan.
"Based on preliminary investigation, the shots were fired from outside the house.
"We also found five spent casings outside the house," he said in a statement.
ACP Azahar said the assailant was believed to have used a semi-automatic weapon to fire the shots.
"There were also gunshot marks at five spots, which are the wall, ceiling, door and door frame of the house and the car windscreen," he said, adding that the incident happened around 2am on Thursday.
ACP Azahar said that although there were occupants in the house then, they did not realise the shooting.
He said the occupants only realised that shots had been fired at their house when they saw the gunshot marks.
ACP Azahar said the case was being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms Act (Increased Penalties) 1971 for discharging a firearm with the intention of killing or injuring a target.
He said the police were probing the case and that stern action would be taken against the perpetrators.
Those with information on the case can contact the district police station at 06 6033 222 to assist with the investigation.
