Sabah polls: Shafie says linking Warisan to illegal immigrants shows lack of ideas

TUARAN: Linking Warisan to illegal immigrants shows opponents are bankrupt of ideas, said Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

The Warisan president said such issues are played up to divide Sabahans.

“It shows they do not have other issues. I do not think Sabahans will buy into these things anyway,” he added.

Shafie said this when he spoke to reporters after a mega-ceramah here late on Tuesday (Nov 25) night.

Shafie said about 8,000 locals attended a Warisan event in Keningau recently.

“One can imagine how united Sabahans are. People can resort to all sorts of connotations, like illegal immigrants and more,” he added.

In Sabah, the illegal immigrant or PTI issue is often used as a political bogeyman.

The issue has been increasingly played up as Sabah nears the polls; the Sabah state elections will be held on Saturday (November 29).
