Former village committee chairman faces CBT charges involving RM40,000

KUANTAN: A former village development and security committee chairman has been charged in the Sessions Court here with two counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM40,000.

Mohamed Sahimi Wan Ishak, 63, pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read to him before judge Sazlina Safie on Wednesday (Nov 26).

The former chairman for Mat Daling in Jerantut is accused of misusing money that was entrusted to him by a logging company representative as payment to the committee in accordance with a logging agreement.

The offence was allegedly committed at a law firm and the logging company's office in Jerantut on July 7, 2022 and April 18, 2023.
