Man shot dead at Sendayan restaurant near Seremban


SEREMBAN: A 33-year-old man with a record of 42 crimes has died after he was attacked by several men armed with guns and knives here.

Negri Sembilan police chief Dep Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the suspects, who  were armed with firearms and sharp weapons, attacked the victim while he was walking back to his car with his family at around 11.20pm on Wednesday (Nov 19).

"Based on preliminary investigations, six masked suspects in several cars, blocked the victim's car and began attacking him.

"The victim tried to escape but the armed suspects chased him, fired several shots and attacked him with sharp weapons," he said in a statement.

DCP Alzafny said the victim suffered serious injuries and collapsed a short distance away.

"Medical personnel who arrived a short while later confirmed the victim's death.

"The victim sustained gunshot and slash wounds and his remains were taken to hospital for postmortem," he said.

The case, he said, was being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and Section 3 of the Firearms Act (Increased Penalties) 1971.

DCP Alzafny said checks showed that the victim had previous records for various offences such as robbery, causing hurt and house breaking.

He said police were still probing the motive of the attack.

"We have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are also looking for the vehicles used by them," he said.
