GCET Summit provides space for ideas and collaboration, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The Global Chinese Economic and Technology Summit is a valuable space to exchange ideas and explore practical collaboration, said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president delivered a special address at the summit at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Nov 19).

He said the theme, “Global Leadership and Partnership in the Age of Digital and Green Transformation”, reflects profound shifts shaping the future economy.

“I highlighted three simple approaches as we move into the discussions,” he said.

“Focus on clear outcomes, use conversations and networking as catalysts, and keep Asean centrality and mutual respect at the core,” added Dr Wee.

He said in a Facebook post that he looks forward to seeing constructive dialogue and real partnerships emerge from the summit.

“Thank you to KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, China Development Institute, INSAP and all partners for convening a strong network,” he added.

He said the network spans leaders from government, business and academia.

The GCET Summit is an annual international forum aimed at improving business linkages and connectivity between China and the world.

It provides a platform for high level discussions on global and regional events and it focuses on China’s rise as a world leading economy.
