PETALING JAYA: Two men were injured after a four-wheel-drive vehicle skidded and crashed into a gabion wall beside the West Coast Expressway (WCE) near Assam Jawa on Saturday (Aug 29).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received a distress call at 10.02am.
He said firefighters from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 10.17am, about 14km away.
"The operation commander reported that a four-wheel-drive vehicle had skidded and crashed into a gabion wall beside the road, causing it to overturn.
"One of the victims, a man in his 40s, was trapped inside the vehicle and was successfully extricated by firefighters, while the other victim was removed by members of the public before firefighters arrived," he said in a statement on Saturday.
Ashrul said both victims suffered facial injuries and were handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further treatment.
The operation was brought under control at 10.27am, with four firefighters and one fire engine deployed to the scene.
