KUALA LUMPUR: The beta version of MyGov app, aimed at centralising digital government services, has recorded 113,170 downloads as of Nov 17 this year, says Gobind Singh Deo.

The Digital Minister said the initial phase of the “super app”, which was launched on Aug 16, offers 36 integrated services involving 13 government agencies.

“These include eight MyJPJ services such as vehicle licence checks, summonses, latest registration numbers, blacklist status, driving test results, driving licence information, demerit point checks, and the display of the Digital Card for driving licences and motor vehicle licences.

“It also features integrated services from the Immigration Department, which include passport information and travel restriction status; services from the National Registration Department involving identity card information; OKU Card information under the Social Welfare Department; as well as MySejahtera services, which allow the public to make appointments with government health facilities through the mobile application,” he told the Dewan Rakyat during the oral question and answer session on Tuesday (Nov 18).

Gobind was replying to a question from Jimmy Puah (PH-Tebrau) who wanted to know the government’s plan to create a super application that includes all government agency applications, such as MyBorderPass, MyJPJ, which can only be accessed via MyDigital ID.

He also added that the ministry is developing MyGov Malaysia as a government super app that will encompass all digital government services involving the public, covering services of the Federal Government, state governments, and local authorities (PBT).

He said the platform uses MyDigital ID for secure digital identity verification and aims to make MyGov Malaysia the main platform for public access to digital government services.

“Its implementation is being carried out in phases, subject to the readiness of agencies and the level of integration for each service, given that each system has different technical requirements.

“This includes services involving payment transactions, which require more meticulous integration to ensure system security and compatibility,” he added.

In line with the phased implementation, Gobind said the ministry is currently adding another 16 services that are undergoing technical integration.

He said the services include driving licence renewal, road tax renewal, Road Transport Department (JPJ) and police summons payments, utility bill payments such as electricity, water and sewerage, zakat payments, as well as PBT summons and tax payments.

“In addition, MyBayar PDRM services, replacement MyKad applications (JPN), unclaimed money applications through the e-Gumis system, and the Portal Manfaat (benefits portal) under the Finance Ministry are also in the implementation phase.

“Integration with the Portal Manfaat will help the public easily check their eligibility for government assistance or initiatives they may qualify for,” he added.

Gobind also said a Citizen Lab initiative is being implemented to engage with the public to ensure that the development of MyGov Malaysia truly meets the needs of the people.

“Through Citizen Lab, feedback from the public is used to determine which services should be prioritised, improve user interface and user experience (UI/UX), and ensure that the application is built according to the real needs of the people,” he added.

Gobind also stressed that security is the top priority in the development of MyGov Malaysia.

He said the application uses MyDigital ID as a secure digital authentication identity that complies with international security standards.

“Every integrated service must undergo security testing, compliance with data protection standards, risk assessments, and system audits before being activated for public use.

“The MyGov Malaysia application does not store citizens’ personal data, as integration is carried out through Application Programming Interface (API), whereby data remains stored securely within each agency’s system.

“This approach ensures that MyGov remains a service delivery platform without duplicating or storing sensitive personal data,” he said this when responding to a supplementary question from Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (PN-Rantau Panjang) who asked about the possibility of data breach when various government services are combined into a super app.
