Selangor police nab 30 foreigners illegally entering country

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested 30 foreigners after raiding a boat that had entered the coastline near Sabak Bernam in an operation against human trafficking.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar, in a statement on Sunday (Nov 16), said the boat was intercepted in the Sungai Pulai coastal area during the Saturday operation.

"A total of 30 foreigners, 21 men and nine women aged between 21 and 49 years old, were detained," he said.

He added that two mobile phones that were believed to have been used for migrant smuggling activities were also seized.

The state police will continue to intensify intelligence efforts and joint operations with relevant agencies to curb cross-border criminal activities for the safety and sovereignty of the nation," he said.
