Anwar calls Pakatan, GRS and Barisan clashes in Sabah ‘friendly fight’

KOTA KINABALU: The clashes between candidates of Pakatan Harapan and its election partners Gabungan Rakyat Sabah and Barisan in four state constituencies have been described as a "friendly fight" by Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"It involves a few constituencies. Not many, it should not be a problem," Anwar told reporters during a "Sembang Media" breakfast with the media here on Sunday (Nov 16).

In Bandau, Pakatan-PKR candidate Zaidi Jatil is contesting against Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s Datuk Redonah Bahanda, who was allocated the seat through the electoral pact between the two coalitions.

Bandau is seeing a 13-corner fight that includes a Barisan-Umno candidate.

In Moyog, GRS-PBS candidate Koey Nodd Aiiko Ronald Bansin is being challenged by Pakatan-PKR candidate Remysta Jimmy Taylor in a seat with 12 contestants.

For Kemabong, GRS-PGRS’s allotted candidate Datuk Rubin Balang faces Pakatan-DAP candidate Noortita Saul in a nine-corner fight for the interior seat in Tenom.

In Karamunting, Pakatan-PKR candidate Datuk George Hiew is being challenged by Barisan-MCA candidate Datuk Chin Kim Hiung in a five-way contest for the seat in Sandakan on Sabah’s east coast.
