KUCHING: Sarawak plans to digitalise all 271 public health clinics in the state by next year, says Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.

The Deputy Premier announced that 175 health clinics have gone digital in phase one of the digitalisation initiative for 2024-2025, which was allocated RM10mil.

"We will work with various other agencies and get the remaining 94 health clinics in Sarawak Internet-ready," he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Nov 13).

Dr Sim said the next step was to implement healthcare artificial intelligence applications in medical diagnostics, predictive analytics, telemedicine and hospital efficiency.

Dr Sim also congratulated the Sarawak Health Department for receiving the state government strategic network award in digital health transformation and the digital health transformation award in recognition of its efforts.

The awards were presented by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad to state health director Dr Veronica Lugah at the ministry's ICT Day in Putrajaya on Tuesday (Nov 11).
