Woman among four detained for alleged burglary in Gong Badak


DUNGUN: Police have detained four individuals, including a woman, believed to be involved in several housebreaking cases in the district.

Dungun OCPD Supt Maizura Abdul Kadir said the suspects, aged from 30 to 64, were arrested at a house in Kampung Tok Jembal, Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu at 3.15pm on Wednesday (Nov 12).

"The suspects were arrested by the Dungun police headquarters CID team in collaboration with the Gong Badak police station task force and the Kuala Terengganu police headquarters.

Among those nabbed was a 30-year-old male suspect with a record of 23 crimes, including 11 for drug-related offences and one under the Road Transport Act.

Three other suspects, including the 31-year-old woman, tested positive for drugs," she said in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 12).

Supt Maizura added that police seized 36 items, including mobile phones, laptops, branded watches, a graphics tablet, jewellery, and electronic equipment, believed to be connected to their criminal activities during the raid.

"All suspects admitted their involvement in the cases under investigation.

"With these arrests, police successfully solved three housebreaking cases in Paka and one case in Dungun," she said adding that the case was being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
