Puchong murder: Six released on police bail, says Selangor's top cop

SHAH ALAM: Six Indian nationals detained in connection with the murder of their fellow countryman, who held Malaysian permanent resident (PR) status, in Pusat Bandar Puchong, have been released on police bail, says Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar.

The Selangor police chief stated that the six individuals, who were housemates with one being the main suspect, were freed after their statements were recorded.

"So far, the statements obtained from the arrests have not contributed to the investigation. All individuals have been released on police bail," he told reporters on Tuesday (Nov 11).

Comm Shazeli mentioned that the exact motive of the incident is still under investigation, and updates will be provided in due course.

Previously, Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Farid Ahmad said that the 49-year-old victim, a self-employed technician, had been living in Malaysia for 19 years.

The victim was found dead on the staircase of a shoplot in Pusat Bandar Puchong on Nov 6. – Bernama
