Two motorcyclists killed in crash with lorry near Sibu


SIBU: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident at Mile 62, Sepiring in Selangau on Sunday (Nov 9) night.

The victims, identified as Keli Baling and Belula Amin, both aged around 30, were confirmed dead at the scene.

The Selangau Civil Defence Force said they received a call regarding the incident at 9.53pm.

Preliminary information showed the motorcycle the victims were riding crashed into the rear of a lorry.

Selangau Civil Defence Force chief Lt (PA) Luke Douglas Dongum said their team arrived to find the police and firemen already at the location.

"Our task force conducted an initial assessment and found both victims were lying on the road and had already died. The medical team confirmed their deaths at the scene," he said.

He added that the bodies were later lifted with assistance from the police and Fire and Rescue Department before being sent to Mukah Hospital.

The case is being investigated by the police.
