Two snatch thieves nabbed after robbing woman in Skudai

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Two snatch thieves were nabbed within 24 hours after snatching a gold chain from a woman outside her house in Taman Seri Orkid, Skudai.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the duo allegedly committed the act on Tuesday (Oct 28) at 8.40am.

“The victim, a 40-year-old Filipino woman, was standing in front of the house when the two suspects on a motorcycle suddenly approached her," he said in a statement.

ACP Kumarasan said one of the suspects, armed with a machete, got off the motorcycle and pointed the weapon at the victim before snatching the gold chain and getting away.

He said the victim lodged a report on Wednesday (Oct 29) at 11.10am and both suspects were detained on the same day between 3pm and 4.50pm in the Skudai area.

“The 29 and 43-year-old suspects have previous criminal records and tested positive for methamphetamine," said ACP Kumarasan.

He added that police also seized a gold chain, a locket, two helmets, two shirts and a motorcycle from the suspects worth RM8,600.

ACP Kumarasan said the suspects have been remanded for seven days from Oct 30 to Nov 5, 2025, to assist with the investigation.
