KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not set up roadblocks during the two-day RXZ Members 8.0 gathering, which begins this Friday at the Gong Badak Motorsports Circuit in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
Instead, Bukit Aman's Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will rely on intelligence and videos to detect traffic offences.
Its director Comm Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali said they would adopt a balanced approach by combining road safety education for participants with firm enforcement against those who violate traffic laws.
He said police would engage young participants through awareness sessions on road safety while maintaining strict action against offenders whose actions endanger other road users.
"We want to educate and guide young people on the importance of road safety throughout the event while emphasising compliance with traffic laws.
"At the same time, we will remain firm against those who break the law and endanger others. We will use intelligence, video recordings and other forms of evidence to detect offences committed by road users.
"This includes dangerous riding or driving, speeding and other traffic offences that could threaten the safety of other road users," he said when contacted on Tuesday (July 28).
Comm Muhammed Hasbullah said all traffic offences, including speeding and other dangerous acts, would be documented and investigated before appropriate action is taken.
He stressed that any approval granted for activities related to the event should not be interpreted as permission to violate traffic regulations or misuse public roads.
"The approval is intended to ensure smoother traffic flow and minimise disruptions during the event. It does not give anyone the right to break the law or use public roads recklessly.
"Roads are meant for everyone and must be used responsibly. They are not places for irresponsible behaviour or dangerous stunts," he said.
He added that the enforcement approach would be implemented in line with JSPT leadership directives, with public safety remaining the department's top priority.
More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the RXZ Members 8.0 gathering.
