KUALA LUMPUR: Police have obtained new leads in tracking down businessman Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said the development follows ongoing cooperation between Malaysian police and Interpol, adding that investigations are still active.
“There are new leads as police continue to trace his whereabouts through international cooperation,” he told the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Oct 30).
He declined to elaborate, saying he did not want to jeopardise the investigation.
Saifuddin also confirmed that the Immigration Department revoked Muhammad Adlan’s passport at the request of the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission.
Saifuddin was responding to a question from RSN Rayer (PH–Jelutong) on the latest status of the manhunt.
Earlier, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the agency is intensifying its international search for lawyer Mansoor Saad and Muhammad Adlan.
He said both are believed to be overseas.
Azam said Mansoor, who is also wanted in the case, remains at large and is a fugitive overseas.
The investigation into Muhammad Adlan, the son in law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, involves alleged corruption and misappropriation linked to a ministry project.
