GEORGE TOWN: Penang will soon come alive with a celebration of travel, culture and local creativity as Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia heads to Gurney Paragon Mall from Oct 31 to Nov 2.

Organised by Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with Star Media Group, the three-day event invites Malaysians to embrace the theme “Explore. Experience. Excite.” – celebrating the nation’s diverse destinations, distinctive flavours and lively communities.

Following successful editions in Pahang, Selangor and Sarawak, the Penang leg continues the carnival’s mission to encourage domestic travel while spotlighting the many hidden gems across Malaysia.

Known as a hub of culture, heritage and gastronomy, Penang offers the perfect backdrop for this next stop – a place where tradition meets modern vibrancy.

The carnival will bring together tourism operators, local entrepreneurs, artisans and creative brands under one roof, offering visitors an inspiring glimpse into what Malaysia has to offer.

From cultural attractions and eco-tourism getaways to homestay experiences and boutique accommodations, the event aims to reignite interest in local travel.

Visitors can also indulge in heritage food from various states, offering a taste of Malaysia’s culinary roots.

From classic recipes to regional favourites, these dishes reflect the stories and identities of communities across the country.

Food lovers will have the opportunity to savour these authentic flavours while learning more about the traditions that keep them alive.

Beyond travel and cuisine, the carnival highlights Malaysia’s growing creative economy, showcasing handmade crafts, artisanal products and lifestyle goods that blend heritage with modern craftsmanship.

It also provides a platform for small and medium enterprises to reach a wider audience, supporting the growth of local businesses within the tourism ecosystem.

Adding sparkle to the three-day event is a line-up of celebrity and key opinion leaders appearances throughout the weekend.

Among those set to grace the stage are Wani Kayrie, Sarah Suhairi, Santesh Kumar, Farez Adnan and several other local personalities who will entertain visitors and engage the crowds.

The carnival’s lively mix of performances, interactive sessions and showcases promises a vibrant experience for visitors of all ages – from families looking for a weekend outing to travellers seeking inspiration for their next getaway.
