Four-year-old boy dies after being hit by MPV


KUANTAN: A four-year-old boy died after being struck by an MPV while riding a bicycle near a surau in the Perumahan Rakyat Pak Mahat here yesterday.

District police chief ACP Ashari Abu Samah said Muhammad Zulfan Adwa Mohd Zulkifli succumbed to his injuries at 2.24am today at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred at about 6.30pm when the vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man from the housing area was heading towards Jalan Tanjung Lumpur.

"While making a left turn, the driver is believed to have hit the victim, who was riding a bicycle in the middle of the road,” he said in a statement.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. - Bernama
