Stolen cable discovered after break-in at Taman Desa MRT Station

KUALA LUMPUR: A cable, believed to have been stolen from an MRT station, was discovered following a report of a break-in at the Taman Desa MRT station.

In a statement on Saturday (Oct 25), Brickfields OCPD Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook confirmed that they received a report of the incident after a fence at the station was found to have been cut open.

“Upon inspection, the communication cables were found piled near a pole at Pier 0373,” he said.

He added that the cable had been taken for further examination, and that the relevant authorities would measure it to determine how much had been stolen.

“The case is still under investigation,” he stated.
