AirAsia to offer three days of fixed fares to help Sabah voters return home

KOTA KINABALU: AirAsia is offering three day promotional fixed fares for Malaysians in Peninsular Malaysia to return to Sabah to vote on November 29.

The fixed fares of RM299 each way apply for direct flights to Sabah from November 26 to 28, 2025, covering more than 4,300 seats across eight routes with 24 flights.

Included routes are Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau or Labuan, Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau, and Kota Bharu and Penang to Kota Kinabalu.

The airline said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to connect communities and support Malaysians during meaningful moments, especially in Sabah as a key domestic market.

It said AirAsia has enhanced connectivity to Sabah with affordable fares, including festival fixed fares and FLYsiswa initiatives.

Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Malaysia, said the airline stands alongside the communities it serves.

“Elections are moments that bring communities together to shape the future and this initiative is our way of making it more affordable for people to return home and take part,” he said.

“Sabah has always held a special place in our network and this is one way we continue to give back to the state, its people and the nation,” he added.

The promotional flights are available for booking from on Wednesday (October 22) until October 26 via airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app.

The fixed fares are valid for selected one way flights and include passenger service charge, regulatory service charges, fuel surcharges and other applicable fees.

Terms and conditions apply and can be found on the AirAsia website.
