EC holding special meeting today to decide key dates for Sabah election

KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission (EC) is set to hold a special meeting on Thursday (Oct 16) pertaining to the 17th Sabah State Election at the Sabah Federal Government Administrative Complex here.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10am, followed by a press conference at 11am.

The press conference is highly anticipated, as it is expected to announce key dates for the upcoming state election, including nomination day, early voting, polling day, and the campaign period.

On Oct 6, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced the dissolution of the 16th State Legislative Assembly, just a month short of completing its five-year mandate, to pave the way for the state polls. - Bernama
