Security guard dies in JB crash on the way to Singapore for work


JOHOR BARU: A Malaysian heading to work in Singapore was killed on the spot in an accident on Jalan Lingkaran Dalam at 4.30am on Thursday (Oct 9).

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the 50-year-old man, who worked as a security guard, was travelling by motorcycle.

"The victim lost control of the machine and crashed into the concrete road divider on the stretch towards Bangunan Sultan Iskandar," he said in a statement.

ACP Raub said the impact of the crash left the victim with severe head injuries.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Hospital Sultanah Aminah, he added.

He urged witnesses to go to the Johor Baru South Traffic Division or contact investigating officer Insp Nurulhadi Ali at 019-5230102 to help with the investigation.
